Research and education in the Department of Machine Tools encompasses the calculation and optimization of machine tools and handling equipment. This includes all component parts, the metrological inspection and evaluation of production systems, drive technology, NC, RC and SPS controls, process monitoring and machine diagnostics, human-to-machine interaction, and control system technology and automation. Also included is gear technology and gear cutting machines.
