Linux Drives Atom

By: Carsten Emde

OSADL supports mainline real-time Linux on computer boards equipped with Intel's Atom/Poulsbo chips

Based on various sources, OSADL has created kernel patches to run mainline real-time Linux on computer boards that are equipped with the Atom processor (Z5x0) in combination with the Poulsbo System Controller Hub (SCH).

The overview of supported features in our related HOWTO shows that nearly all features are supported. For the time being, the kernel was tested on Intel's Crown Beach evaluation board and on Kontron's microETXpress SP module. Atom-based boards of other OSADL members such as Eltec and Phytec will be added as soon as they become available. The patch is available for download here.
