Based on the OSADL QA Farm

The "Latest Stable" PREEMPT_RT Linux kernel project is closely related to the OSADL QA Farm that runs and monitors a wide variety of computer boards. All of them are equipped with former "Latest Stable" real-time kernels and candidates for the next one. New real-time kernel versions are tested continuously on all supported architectures, and a kernel version is not labeled "Latest Stable" unless

• the kernel has been running for at least a month without crashing,
• all features of the previous "Latest Stable" kernel are available,
• there are no regressions of the real-time capabilities in comparison to the previous "Latest Stable" kernel, and
• there are no performance regressions in comparison to the previous "Latest Stable" kernel.

For this purpose, the kernel version of the test board is monitored along with all other data so any regression can be related to a possible kernel upgrade. Examples on subsequent pages illustrate the analysis of a stability regression and latency regressions in upgraded boards.
