Time Line

The goal is to constitute the working-group by October 2007 with key industrial partners and to publish first draft documents by March 2008. To achieve this tight time-line the following steps and dates are proposed..

  • acceptance of Working Group Proposal by the end of June 2007, sanctioning of time-line.
  • contacting of key industrial partners for the initial working group by September 2007 (delays expected due to summer holidays)
  • confirmed nomination of representatives by October 2007
  • First kickoff meeting at RTLWS9 Nov 4 in Linz Austria
  • First draft documents to working group members by Jan 2008
  • Initiation of public resources (web-page (wiki), mailing list, repository, bug-tracking) by end of Jan 2008
  • Publication of discussion draft documents for public review at embedded world 2008
  • first set of initial documents ready for release by mid 2008 (depends on how well feedback actually works out)

This time-line might seem a bit optimistic, but with the current level of prepared work, it is realistic for a small set of core documents. of course the ability to achieve these goals depends on the discussions to be held in the context of the kickoff meeting.
