OSADL's Mission

The goal of the Open Source Automation Development Lab (OSADL) is to promote and support the usage of open-source software in the context of machine and plant control systems. In principle, it aims to support these industries like the Linux Foundation supports industries that provide carrier grade, data center, desktop and mobile systems.

OSADL's key role in the Automation Industry

OSADL aims to be the center of focus for the development of Linux and related Open Source projects, concentrating on satisfying the demands of the automation industry. OSADL connects users, equipment manufactures and Open Source service providers to achieve synergies and partnerships in the spirit of Open Source initiatives. OSADL also provides ready-to-use packages for evaluation and a marketplace for manufacturers and service providers. The OSADL testing laboratories provide both certification services for hardware and software manufacturers as well as a test and verification facility for Open Source developers.
