The initial version of XtratuM/PPC has been released for a few months. There are papers in previous Real-Time Linux Workshops about this work. In this paper, we present the experimental study of the performance of XtratuM running in PowerPC architecture based on our latest progress of XtratuM/PPC. Against the hardware constraints, we did the benchmark for three important technical criteria: interrupt latency, scheduling latency and system call latency, in order to give out a global view for the performance of the real-time hypervisor in PowerPC architecture. Our experiments and analysis show the concrete results and we summarize in the end. In Addition, through these assessments we find what improvements should be taken for our future work of XtratuM/PPC.
