Linux 2.6.18 with Preempt-RT Patch rt5 on MXL and netX500

By: Robert Schwebel

The kernel compiles and runs flawlessly, first latency plot available

The Linux 2.6.18 kernel has been patched wirh the Preempt-RT patch rt5. After applying a number of necessary fixes, the kernel could be compiled and tested on an MXL and a netx500 target system. Below is a latency plot of this kernel gained under the various conditions as specified in the legend.

Patches containing the fixes we had to apply have already been submitted upstream. Hopefully, they will be included soon.
