HOT - Heidelberg OSADL Talks 2020

What is HOT?

HOT = Heidelberg OSADL Talks are open information events that take place several times a year. Participants will get an overview of the fundamental legal aspects (Legal HOT) and technical aspects (Technical HOT) when using Open Source software in industrial products and will learn how OSADL can provide support.

Legal HOT and Technical HOT may be booked either separately or as package. The conference language is English.

Please note: Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, both HOT spring dates on April 28 and April 29, 2020 will be held virtually by live video stream.

Who can attend HOT?

  • Employees of OSADL member companies whose in-house OSADL information day took place some time ago and/or who would like to get an update on the legal and technical prerequisites when using Open Source software in industrial products as well as on current OSADL projects and services.   
  • New employees of OSADL member companies who are connected with Open Source software and who do not yet know OSADL and its services and who would like to get an overall information on the legal and technical requirements when using Open Source software in industrial products.
  • Companies that are not yet OSADL members and whose employees want to get acquainted with OSADL, its projects and services and get to know OSADL better before or in addition to an in-house OSADL information day for their company.

When and where does HOT take place?

In 2020 HOT will take place on the following dates:

  • Spring dates:
    • Tuesday, April 28, 2020 (Legal HOT) - Virtual, by video conference
    • Wednesday, April 29, 2020 (Technical HOT) - Virtual, by video conference
  • Fall dates:
    • Tuesday, September 29, 2020 (Legal HOT)
    • Wednesday, September 30, 2020 (Technical HOT)


Legal HOT and Technical HOT may be booked either separately or as package. Participants may select a suitable date when registering.

Both HOT spring dates on April 28 and 29, 2020 will be held virtually by live video stream.

The HOT event in fall on September 29 and 30 is scheduled to take place at the TP ConferenceCenter in Heidelberg Technology Park, Im Neuenheimer Feld 582 in 69120 Heidelberg/Germany.

What is the agenda of Legal HOT on April 28, 2020?

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Legal HOT on April 28, 2020 will be held virtually by live video stream. The login data for the video sessions will be sent to the registered participants shortly before the event.

What is the conference language of HOT?

The conference language of the Heidelberg OSADL Talks is English.

What are the participation fees of HOT?

Participation is free of charge.

The number of participants of the face-to-face events in September is limited to 40.

How can you register for HOT?

For registration please use the registration form available here: HOT registration.

For the spring dates, please register before April 23, 2020.

For the fall dates, please register before September 24, 2020.

Legal HOT and Technical HOT may be booked either separately or as package. Please check the desired date(s) when registering.

How to get to the TP ConferenceCenter of Heidelberg Technology Park (fall dates)

Venue:

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, both HOT spring events on April 28 and April 29, 2020 will be held virtually by live video stream. The login data for the video sessions will be sent to the registered participants shortly before the event.

Both HOT events in fall on September 29 and September 30, 2020 are still scheduled to take place as face-to-face event at the TP ConferenceCenter im Technologiepark Heidelberg (TP ConferenceCenter at Heidelberg Technology Park), Im Neuenheimer Feld 582 in 69120 Heidelberg/Germany.

By car:
A map to calculate directions to the TP ConferenceCenter im Technologiepark Heidelberg is available here. A limited number of parking spaces is available and will be reserved for HOT participants.

Public transportation:
The TP ConferenceCenter im Technologiepark Heidelberg is located about 2.5 kilometers away from Heidelberg main railway station. From there, the electric tram line RNV 24 direction „Handschuhsheim” takes about seven minutes (Please note that due to a major contruction site at Heidelberg main railway station, the tram departure station has been moved to stop "Hauptbahnhof West"). Please leave the tram at stop „Technologiepark”. The ConferenceCenter can be reached from there in a short walk. How to get to TP ConferenceCenter by public transportation.
