Following the successful completion of phase #4, an online survey was launched on possible topics for phase #5. The results were evaluated in close cooperation with the users and the community. Based on these results, a letter of intent for project phase #5 is now available.

Tasks and priorities

The project activities are broken down into work packages as described below. All following software components planned to be developed and support planned to be delivered will be governed under the conditions of the Letter of Intent:

1. High priority
   • open62541: Full XML datatype de-/encoding
   • open62541: Implementation of a Binary / ROM-based nodestore
2. Medium priority
   • Creating up-to-date and easy-to-use PubSub over TSN examples and building a demonstrator
     that shows PubSub over TSN communication in a heterogeneous environment (with different
     CPU architectures)
   • open62541: Enhancement and improvement of the PubSub FastPath
3. Low priority
   • open62541: UA-Nodeset based data type processing for the Nodeset-Compiler
