Description and Agenda

The Open Source License Obligations Checklists project is a project to create and disseminate generally accepted rules to fulfill the obligations when distributing software that is licensed under commonly used Open Source licenses.

In the second project meeting we would like to further synchronize what we have reached so far and coordinate the next steps.

  • Continuation of definitions of terms
  • Continuation of definitions of actions
  • Compilation of additional license texts
  • Integration of license-specific templates
  • Integration and referencing of copyleft hints
  • Integration and referencing of patent hints
  • Integration of a mechanism for approval of licenses and templates
  • Further development of the "language"

The preliminary agenda is the following:

  • Information on current situation of the project and, particularly, the web interface (Dr. Carsten Emde)
  • Information on current status of the work on the various licenses (Dr. Till Jaeger)
  • Parallel working groups on the checklists files.

We would like to propose to work in small working groups with priority on
- Editorial notes
- Selected licenses
- Selected actions and terms
